Default Shifting problem

Hello everyone, new member here. I'm sure this issue has been discussed numerous times but I'm going to ask again. I bought my son a 2005 crew cab lariat. It has 226,000 miles on it. Just about everything under the hood has been replaced by the previous owner, who happens to be a life long friend. So, while driving the truck, and it has fully shifted out with no problems, I started to slowly accelerate and the truck starts bucking and jumping. We've searched everywhere for a resolution, but haven't found one. Please help!!!!

1st you need to list exactually what you drive (year/ motor /trans type etc) (it's probably the 5.4 motor)
You state shifting problems but then you state accelerating & starts bucking & jumping....which sounds more like a run issue (which can/will cause it possibly to not shift or harsh shifting which is not really related... Can you be more explicit!............ speed rpm's etc.

The truck is a 2005 F150 Lariat 4x4 and does have the 5.4. I stated shifting because I wasn't sure if it could be a shifting issue or a running issue. It starts by bucking and jumping when accelerating slowly when speed is close to 30 mph or so. Not sure of the rpm's, but since it has shifted into OD, I would assume they are in the 1300-1500 range? It does not shift hard or lag in shifting. Goes thru the gears just fine while accelerating and from take off.

I would start with the easier, and change the spark plugs, and coils, sounds like it could be a misfire.

They have all been changed, along with a new fuel filter.

Sounds like it refuses to downshift when attempting to accelerate from about 30-40mph. I have a Chevy Duramax with the exact same issue. It is so bad that I have to constantly lock out overdrive while in traffic and try to remember to turn it back on when I get up over 55mph.

Did "everything under the hood" include the usual cam phasers/timing parts/oil pump?
