Replacing 3rd brake light harness

Default Replacing 3rd brake light harness
i have a 2005 Ford F-150. I had a lightbulb burn literally in the bracket so I need to replace the harness. I can’t seem to get into it through the hole in which the harness is connected into. Does anyone know the best way to get into there and replace the harness?

did you drop the head liner?

I have not yet. I was hoping it wouldn’t come down to that though.

I read a thread that somebody just dropped the back of the headliner and was able to reach the plug... me, I would just splice and solder.
