Default pulling camper

I have a 2002 f150. We purchased a 21ft toyhauler. Loaded its about 6500 pounds. Whe hitting any kind of hill the truck kicks down into 2. It ir running 4500 rpm. I have od shut off do i need to change gears in pumpkin? Or is this normal i would think a 5.4 wouldnt have any trouble.

Stock gears could be anything from 3,55's and higher. There's several ways to find out which ones you have. You can do a VIN search and see what the build options were from the factory or look in the door tag for the gear ratios. If all else fails get under the truck and look for the tag on the pumpkin usually bolted to the cover. (Usually covered in gunk and grease)
Bottom line you'll want gears with more torque like a set of 3.83's. Remember you'll notice a small drop in gas mileage the further you go from 3.55's, which is the trade off for the power.
