Default Problem

My 2006 F150.....only at speeds between 15 and 35 MPH...the truck seems to pop out of gear.....the rpms rev from 1 to. 2+ , but no extra power..then if I tap the gas it seems to catch..again..just had a couple plugs checked and the were clean....manifold has exhaust leak which is being repaired Friday....any thoughts as to what else it can be without having the tranny checked...any help will be greatly appreciated...

I would agree. If not, there's also a chance the torque converter is going out.

Low on fluid or internal issues. Converter would not be a concern as it does not begin to engage at those speeds.

Took it to my mechanic this morning and it threw a code for tranny over heating...so we agreed to do a flush and filter....also had them check coil packs for shoots and giggles......if this doesn't work...I'll task it to AAMCO and let themlook at it....Thanks for all answers...I'll keep you informed...

a block ? as in the line is blocked ? yuck... that would take some nasty fluid to do that.

Probably the internal thermostat, this applies to the current 6R80 trans, unsure what the op has. You cannot flush the 6R80 trans due to that reason, you can change the filter and do a fluid exchange with the proper machine. Only thing that can be flushed is the cooler itself.
