Has anybody Changed a rack and pinion on a 06 F150

Not yet, but it shouldn't be that bad. Is it a 4wd or 2 wd?

4x4 changing pump first

I caught myself looking at a price for one of these the other day. It was 170 I think. Rack and pinion that is. What kind of problems are you having?

No whining bit very stiff Im changing pump first

might want to try a PS flush before you change the pump. If that doesn't help, a pump is only $50

Check your steering shaft before you do anything else, they are extremely common, the joints corrode and make the shaft seize.

Bupm on the above post. Het some high temp grease and really knead it into the steering knuckle. Turn your steering wheel side to side and repeat process. See if this doesnt help first.
