Found a firm reference to the intake manifold. Of course the image links are broken.

https://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=110062

But they show up in the Google search results. Google knows all... Look at the first three results. I'll copy them and paste them.

Just to finish this off, I blew one of the pictures up so a person can clearly see the lines and the location. It's almost directly under the IACV. So the hose from the back of the valve cover runs up to there.

Funny, I remember accidentally removing one of those coolant lines because I thought it was a vacuum hose. At the time I thought it must be a throttle body heating thing.

Here's another blowup showing the second coolant line.

These are photos from my truck I just went and checked again. I know its hard to see tried to get good pictures but I pulled that hose off. That runs to the back of my valve cover. I'm a little confused as to where the PCV valve is located in this. Is it supposed to be located up front? Because the videos that I've seen they pull it from the back where that hose would be going. But I don't see anything that looks like a PCV valve. Appreciate all the help by the way.

You have the later version of the PCV which mounts in the intake manifold. Not sure why you can't see it in my pictures, they're about identical. Phone?

Your pictures look like it's intact at the manifold, but can't see the valve cover location, where the end of the hose is. You do have the later plastic intake manifold and the leak-prone isolator bolts. So, once you confirm your PCV that's one thing to check next. The problem would follow the intake manifold, so if you had high miles on your old engine and moved the manifold over to the "new" one it's a firm possibility.

Here's the PCV that you have and I marked up your picture to show the two coolant lines and the main hose. Actually reversed but you'll see it.

You can see one of the Torx screws that holds it in to the manifold right above the main hose in your picture.

It's definitely not a normal looking PCV valve, that's for sure.

This might not be your problem but the video is worth watching. Different car, same engine.

I see now. Yea I was very confused because it looks nothing like the ones I've seen in videos. I appreciate the help a bunch. I'll update when I get the part and replace it might be a few days.

I believe he’s heading for this. I believe my first encounter with the isolators started as a one-time P0171. As with all things 4.2, I did have to dig in a few months later. It’s inevitable.

OP, I would definitely order those isolator bolts, intake gaskets and some IMRC bushings and do all that while the engine is out. I’m having to screw with putting in new IMRC bushings right now (driver’s side bushing on the IMRC was loose) and that reach between the back of the engine and firewall is no fun! Pulling hoses and wire connectors is easy the third time around. Torquing down firewall side screws, not so much.
