Question Oil Change by Computer

Does anyone wait until the computer tell you it is time for a oil change? I only drive my F150 about 7000 miles a year. I just wonder if this computer setup is having me change my oil in time? I know the trend is longer interim's between changes. I want to change the oil when necessary but I do not want to change too soon either. So my question is "is this computer trustworthy & has their been any documentation?

I follow it on my '07 Explorer w/ 4.6l V8 and never had issues. I say follow it unless you do alot of heavier duty stuff.

I agree. Altought, if it's full Syntethic it should last longer than 6 months in my opinion.

I run my truck 6-8k miles a year. I change it once a year with Full syn and a NAPA Platinum oil filter.

The notions of old no longer apply and to be certain when you need to change the oil, send a sample in for analysis.

$20 bux means that much to you? I believe that 20 could save money in the long run when your not changing the oil unnecessarily. Probably three or four times that in savings over the span of ownership, unless you lease and turn in every few years.
