Sorry if this comes as a silly question, but we're at a loss. Hubby and I bought a 1994 Ford F-150 XL with the 5.0 engine. Unfortunately didn't know about some problems until we got home, naturally. In working on things to fix, we're having a heck of a time putting oil in the dang thing. The attached picture is what we're dealing with. Thoughts on taking it off/out/is that even the fill? Sorry about the fluid, hoping it'd trickle in there somehow.

 

That's the inner core of the cap, unscrew it. Apparently the top part snapped off, it happens. You can pick up a new one fairly cheap.

Looking @ that pic....It just isn't right....am trying to remember what my 94 &95 looked like ( I'm @ a lost) tooo long ago!!
What's on the other valve cover ??? Also see if that whatever it is comes ...the rest of the way off......It should be a female screw type cap..........or comes off like a rad cap except the lock tabs are female & go into the valve cover....Usually oil is printed on top in yellow now that I'm thinking....

710 upside down is OIL..........Good Luck it has to be there !!
