97 f150 4.2 I just rebuilt the engine bearings and rings. My problem is I have almost no acceleration when taking off from stop, but around 3500 rpm the power just kicks in. The engine runs perfect.To me its a timing issue. Timing chain is perfect and cam syncronizer is also perfect. The only other thing is when I scanned it had p0401. I found vac. solenoid broken so I replaced. Still no fix. Also the driver side imrc has no electrical connector and does not work. But has been broken for awhile when this problem happened recently. Any help is appreciated

 

So the motor runs good but trucks hesitates when accelerating? Don't believe that. Are you still getting the p0401 code?

 

Yea. P0401 remains. The egr itself is stuck closed. I have a new 1 coming Tuesday.

Will do. I forgot but I cleaned the maf. It had a chunk of something on it. No difference.

A piece of plastic. No good on the egr. I'm replacing the maf. Readings on a scanner are too high.

 

Nothing had worked. I don't know what to do. Anybody have anything? Need suggestions stuck as hell
