My f-150 will not reconize a code reader is pluged in.

Does any one know why the truck will not reconize the reader....It worked a week ago and now it doesn't work....My mechanic told me the ECM is going bad....Any truth to this.

Any chance the reader is faulty? A problem with the connectors?

Anything is possible. Try the fuses? There is one for this and it runs teh cigar lighter also.

Make certain that the batteries are "hot" in your reader.

Ok guys I tried two different readers from my store and autozone...the fuses is the likely culpret..just have not had time to check..thanks guys
