Default Misfires

I have an 06 ford f150 with the 5.4 in it. This morning on my way to work my truck just suddenly died. Now the only thing that came up on the dash was the maintaince light. I've been having problems with it lately with misfires and backfires. It's got 94,000 miles on it and I just bought it 2 weeks ago. Any suggestions on the cause, I'm thinking like its the spark plugs

I had water in my spark plug bore where the ignition plug sits and it caused it to do the same thing!

Could be several things...I take it no Check Engine Light ?? could be ...plugs...COP's...clogged cats or even a bad FPDM...all will cause mis-fires

Have you recently fill the gas tank? Could be a load of bad fuel.

I took my f150 to the dealer and appentlyThere is a ford bulletin tsb 08-5-13 & NHTSA ID#10024828 (03-01-08) that mentions problems with the throttle body. Procedure suggests reprogramming PCM to new software using IDS release 53.9 and higher or 54.1 and higher. It is to fix a sludge compensation strategy in the throttle body. Affects f150's between 2004-2006. Apparently this is a wide ranging problem with the trucks. Lots of Internet information.

Pulling codes sure would help narrowing down the problem. Whats the engine vac?

Yeah the throttle body caused the misfire and they changed the fuel filter
