Hello everyone; it's Junior year of High School and first week of school. And guess what? I have a project already for Science. Anyway, I'm suppose to make a IV and DV project so I came up with " The effect of regular maintenance on a engine's life "

And what better way then to ask people on the forum?! Alright, so what I'm gonna have is a poll; I would like ya'll to list how many Miles ya'll have on the poll and then post a reply saying how often you do the maintenance; what oil you use; etc etc. I'll try to update this making it more " Professional " Looking, but for now just trying to get this question out there

Everyone that does the poll please list how many miles you have, the oil you use, and if you believe your getting the best performance (( No sludge ))

I dont want to skew your poll on the first vote but here goes. 203,000 mls. 97 F150 Lariat 4.6. I never use any one brand, I buy whatever is on sale or store brand. I have never had an engine failure or a sludge problem. My daily driver is a Ply minivan with 263,500 mls. Good luck with your project. Mike

I own a 1999 Ford F-150 5.4 L 4x4 with 225,000 miles. Still runs great.

I change the oil every 3000 miles or 3 months what ever is first, the oil I use is Royal Purple along with a K&N oil filter and have used this combination since i bought the truck new about 10 years ago.

I do more then just oil changes though I change all of the other fluids too at their suggested intervals but your poll only asks for how often oil is changed.

i will refer to the maintenance given to car motor, bc i just got the truck

i ALWAYS use syntetic oil, (mobil or castrol) replace the filter and havent had any issues about motor or lubrication.

im a nissan alima 2005 with 50,000 miles

a dodge stratus 2001 with 60,000 miles

and i just serviced the F-150 2004 with 70,000 miles used syntetic oil.

y guess for a statistic study you should limit the answer to what is in your poll, and an the poll oil brands, oil filter brands, whatever you think wouls people answer.... but if you leave the questio so open you would get very punctual answer........ jus a suggestion
