Default loose steering

hello all,

I have a problem with the steering in my '89 custom 2wd. the steering seems to be a bit loose, less responsive, but the front end is nice and tight. how would i go about tightening the steering?

thanks

you might want to look into the steering gear box it may have a slight leak causing the sloppy steering.. but im pretty sure there is an adjustment stud on the gearbox but i would not reccomend messing with it you could prob bring it to a shop and have them adjust it for you... but on the other hand i have an 89 and everything is also nice and tight and i still have alittle play in my steering wheel i think its just cos the old girl is OLD lollol but i have had to change out the steering box before due to leaking..

Thank you very much for the info. If the steering box was leaking, would there be power steering fluid on the ground?
