Default Leaky 3rd break light

I have a (new) used 2005 F150 - water is coming in through the back window - I have isolated this to the 3rd break light. I'm going to buy a new light and gasket kit - DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL CORRECTLY so no more leaks? Do I also need sealant? Thx. I tried to fix the existing breaklight and gasket but doesn't seem to be working.

I had the same problem with mine when I replaced my 3rd brake light with an LED one. My problem was that I just did not tighten the screws enough so it wasnt sealed, but after I tightened them it has not leaked since.

OK so problem solved, I bought a new brake light, it came with the new gasket installed. No more leaks. It also came with new wiring, but I could not reach the connector on the old wiring to remove it, so used the old wiring. Has anyone had experience reaching the wiring connector, do you need to take the inside roof panel apart of something?
