Default HELP! Loud Metal Sounds Check Pics Out THX

Hello all thanks for any and all the help ahead of time. So I was driving a couple days ago and I rode over a pothole and a metal sound was really LOUD. I see a piece of metal that is missing a rubber bushing I think in one side and the other side you can see that it's cracked all the way through.

1. Why is there so much space on the one thats present but cracked, is it missing another piece?
2. What is that rubber bushing called?
3. Can I replace that piece aloe or do I have to buy the metal that it's attached to as well?

Below I have attached a couple of pics. I have a feeling I'm gonna need to fix this fast or else it's gonna cause major damage. I tried a couple of buddies but they don't know much about mechanics. Again I truly appreciate all and any help I can get from you guys, God bless.

Sincerely,
Jose Ruvira

Those are sway bar end links. Nothing to panic about as it's for cornering stability only - Your truck will just handle corners like poo. They are cheap and easy to replace.

Pretty common for those to wear out. Super easy fix too.

1. One question, do they sell those bushings or do I have to buy new LINKS with the bushings preinstalled?

If have been looking for them and all I find is companies trying to sell me the whole set up, but since there is no damage to the metal I was curious if the bushings are sold independently. Thanks again fellas.

Sorry Jose, forgot about this. Yes, you can buy just the bushings, I've always just gone ahead and got the whole "dog bone". Take a look where the sway bar is bolted to the axle, chances are, those bushings are bad as well. I usually use Energy Suspension parts, but your local NAPA should have what you need, and likely cheaper too. Make sure when you replace the mount bushings, you grease them up good, that will let the bar rotate easier, and prevent squeaks.

just get the entire link. easy, easy, easy to replace.

rockauto.com sells them. I suspect you're looking at tops $30 for a pair.
