I have a 2004 f150 lariat with a center console shifter. I have noticed that my gear selector is becoming "loose" in a since that it slides from gear to gear without pressing the button. I can easily push the shifter from neutral to reverse and have to play with it a little to find drive. I couldn't find much info but what I did find is "shift cable" and "linkage". I would like and try to fix myself before taking it to a shop so any advise is greatly appreciated.
