Default Front and rear diff

A few years back I rebuilt my rear diff and installed Yukon LSD and kept the gear at 3:55.
Now I want to change my gears to 4:11 and also put a LSD in the front. My question is, is my front ring gear reverse cut? I could not find on the Yukon website a difference in ring gears and other forums mentioned that the transfer case decided the direction of rotation so ring gear is the same as rear. Then at bronco gravyard I found ring gears for my truck that specifically say reverse front differential. Can anyone shed some knowledge on me please. I know the best way to tell is to open it up and look, I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone has already went through this

A LS in the front is awesome - I still love mine. Yes - the front is reverse rotation, that's why I ended up with a very good, but expensive LS unit! Here's my thread ;https://www.f150forum.com/f38/limite...-front-377699/

Your write up seems good, except the bringing it in to let someone else's hands on your truck.. I did the rear and it wasn't as bad as I was thinking.. just takes patience and time... So I wonder why they say LS in the front is bad. It seems like a solid upgrade from stock open diff in an 8.8( I know you have the 9.75 diffs) I don't need to have any raptor diffs, but I do like yukon. With the exception of the housing of the rear axle, it's all Yukon.

A clutch-type LS has too much initial preload/friction and will cause diminished steering in low traction environments. The Torsen has little preload until you put the torque to it, and is a great choice for a front axle.
Assuming you're dealing with a good axle shop, I'll pay them to do it. They have all the bearing pullers/separators, pinion depth gauges etc. I've done a couple re-gears over the years and no, it's not rocket surgery. It's more time consuming than difficult, I just don't have the time anymore. Part of my problem is I spend my days working on trucks and tractors. All I want to do to my truck is drive it !

Actually, the front is the same 31 spline 8.8 that the Raptor uses. I don't have the tools and/or know how to set up the gears, and you could show me any pattern and I'd think it was good!

I will be doing everything myself. I'll do some research on what preload would be best for me.
I know preload was not what was on my mind when I did the rear diff, but you guys have definetly given me something else to consider.
-by preload I assume you're talking about the bias ratio-
Thank you
