Please, find me some part numbers for Wix, NAPA gold, etc.... and post since it is just a simple 5 min answer. I got thread after thread about how Ford Changed the old bigger filter to the newer smaller one, and how no one seems to be, or plans to make a comparable one anytime soon? Maybe my wording in the search? Tried, "Napa Gold Oil Filter for 3.5L EcoBoost," "Wix Oil Filter for 3.5L EcoBoost," "FRAM oil filter for 3.5L EcoBoost." Luckily, mine shows up under the last search, because of the topic wording. I am really looking for a link to find something, I really didn't have ANY luck? The idiots at NAPA looked at me like I was asking in Mandarin Chinese.

The china-mart does sale Ford oil filters, but not the one needed for the motor.
Did you even read my previous post in this thread? (post 11)

Here is a trick. Try going to the website of the filter brand you would like to get, at that website use the filter lookup tool. Here I did the wix one for you . . . easy as that

In my area $50 is about what it costs anywhere. If you want to save a buck, you can get genuine motorcraft products at Wal-Mart for a very good price. With respect to your experience with the parts guy, well, I'm still waiting on my bedliner. the parts guy ordered the wrong size. I would pay more attention to the Ford engineers than the parts counter guy any day of the week.
Well, I didn't know how to take your previous comment in regards to letting Ford change my oil? How else was it supposed to be taken LOL?? I used to enjoy changing my oil when I had a nice level concrete floor to get under there and do it, however, we have a crappy/rocky front yard in the place we are currently in, which isn't exactly fun to change oil on LOL!!. I absolutely hate taking anything I have to a dealership, and after my last experience with the dealership where I bought the damn truck from, my feelings are hardened even more. If it is warranty, great, that is their job, if it is service, I don't trust any of them as far as I can throw them!!

If you're going to deviate from the Motorcraft Filter (which is a good value for the price), there are many aftermarket options that should be higher-up on the list. Not knocking Fram, just saying others are better. For instance: Wix Gold, Bosch Distance Plus, Purolator PureOne....Chances are, one of these is on sale at Autozone right now.

Do you have a pepboys near your house. I was in one today and they had the fl-500s in stock for 4.99 Not a great price but certainly not bad. They also had pureones (pl22500) and the regular purolators (l22500) They also had bosch, mobile1. k&n and royal purple (20-500) if they strike your fancy. In reality unless you are doing extended oci the fl-500s is fine.

If you go to the link I posted up thread you will find out the Ford Motorcaft oil filter is made by Purolator. I use the K&N oil filter, which I now know is the same filter as the Mobile 1 except the K&N is made with 1 inch "nut" hydro-formed into the oil filter canister.

Not sure if there is a pepboys close by or not? I will check their website and see? Seems that NAPA is the big thing up here in Central PA, and it is almost impossible to find an O'Reilys?

I am going to use a WIX filter # 57502. I will NOT be using anything other than that. Fram filters have to many horror stories out there to use. You can go to www.wixfilters.com
and look up what filter you need for any given model. The Ecoboost uses what is above.

I normally change my own oil and filter except sometimes in the winter I will take my stuff to the local change shop and pay labor. When I was in the local Ford dealer having the warranty recall on gas tank straps done I asked about oil. They do not use MC they use Mobil-1. I go to China mart and buy MC oil and filters. Jim.
