I'm seeking recommendations for a fluid extractor for doing a transmission fluid suck-and-fill. I don't have an air compressor, so it needs to be either manual or electric. Something that can move 8 quarts of mercon LV reasonably quickly. Ideally I'd like to keep it under $100, but I'm not sure how realistic that is. I searched on Amazon and was quickly overwhelmed by all the choices.
A picture of my recommendation. Ramps and a pan. I’m not a fan of the fluid extractors for oil changes and definitely not for transmissions. There is always a pile of gunk in the bottom of the pan and the filter should be changed. If you have some unique situation for the use of one I’d get one of those cheap drill operated ones, I’ve seen them used.
Thanks, Dave. I just had a shop do a pan drop and filter change about 3,000 miles ago, so I don't think the filter needs to be changed again yet. I want to do another exchange of the fluid because this was the first time the fluid had been changed (at 92,500 miles), and a pan drop leaves about 40% of the old fluid behind. I've got a big cross-country towing trip coming up, so I figured it would be a good idea to get rid of some more of that old fluid.

too late now, but you can/could have bought a pan with a drain plug in it, and had shop put that on when doing the pan drop.
west marine has various fluid extractors. were on sale recently with the standard/common hand pump model at @ $62 shipped. May be done now.
there are lots of YouTube’s on diy setups using small electric pump and a bucket. Others utilizing shop vac and jar and tubing
I have a cheap squeeze bulb siphon hose to extract transmission fluid. After sucking most of the fluid out I dropped the pan. I did go back with a Dorman pan with a drain plug to make it easier the next time.
This one seemed like one of the better ones, made in US and the bulb part looks and feels like it's pretty good quality. It took a little time and effort to suck out 5 quarts and pump 5 quarts back in, but it wasn't bad. It's not like I'm going to do this every day.
FYI, the brass fitting on the end of the hose seems like it would just barely fit down into the transmission fill hole. I didn't try it, though, because I was afraid it might get stuck.
