Default Failed Inspection 2010 5.4 Flex

So the powers that be failed me today at Inspection. No OBD codes pop up but according to their system, the following were an issue:

Evap System: Not Ready
O2 Sensors: Not ready
02 sensor heaters: Not ready

Could there be causing my occasional rough idle and stalling? It just so happens the idle/sputter issue was occurring on the line as they were testing.

Strange to have no DTCs. However, to answer your question... Yes.

Stock exhaust, stock tune?

Replaced the battery in my wife's edge, failed inspection. Needed at least 100 miles driven to restore some values to ready.

That explains no OBD codes. I guess another week of driving and I'll give it another shot.

Thanks

Still strange that you can not see any DTCs yet the inspection station could tell your vehicle had some Not Ready conditions. I recall that when the ECU was not ready for testing, even that condition would set a DTC. At least that was the case with my GT500. I used my tuner (SCT X3) to check for the condition. I think it occurred whenever I disconnected/connected the battery or after I changed the tune. After a few drive cycles, all was back to normal.

At least for you, those systems are only showing Not Ready and not indicating a failure. However, the rough idling & stalling indicate other issues. Cleaning the TB & MAF sensor is a good suggestion and starting point. And the tune-up.

Good luck with it, after a few more drive cycles, hopefully you can at least get through the inspection.

Clean and tune is next plan.
