Engine removal
Hey, Steve83
I took it out pretty much the way I put it in: take the motor mount plates loose from the block. It was slow going getting to get out the forward lower bolt on both sides. (this Ford has one aft and two forward). I left the exhaust manifolds on the heads as I needed to hook my straps to them for the pick. (coming out the blue ratchet straps were at the back and a chain to the alternator mounting holes on the front of the block.
I used a jack under the transmission to support it as the engine moved forward and also going back to raise it as much as I could.
Pulling the wheel well covers was absolutely necessary. No way to do it without that access. But I dread fitting them back in. It won't be pretty.
Thanks for the reply. Confirms I am within "normal" methods.
