When i bought my truck i was told by a ford dealer that the first oil change had to be done by them.So they could inspect tires, fluids, brakes, tranny, rear end, etc. After that i could change the oil and it would still be under warranty as long as i had proof of oil changes and maintainance.

So, here's the question I have.
Let's say you buy your Motorcraft filters by the case and you buy your motor oil when it's on sale. Your purchases of oil and filters don't necessarily align with the oil changes you've recorded in your log. How do you then prove that you've serviced the vehicle in accordance with the maintenance schedule?

Date
Mileage
what was performed
what stuff was used
who performed it
Like...changed oil and filter replaced 7 QTS of motorcraft 5W-20 blend and motorcraft 820S fliter.

It is not legal for any company to require a purchaser to use their parts or service facility to maintain the factory warranty. Reference the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It specifically states this within the context of the act.
