Default Cat efficiency below threshold

Am I going to wreck anything if I drive around with Bank #2 cat efficiency below limit?

I also get a little bit of rough idle once in a while, nothing too major though.

Does this mean I need new cats?
Its a 97 4.2 if that helps...

My 98 was doing the same thing even after replacing the cats. So I lived with the check engine light on for months.

THEN last month my son and I were chasing down a gas gauge problem. To check the hoses and wiring we lifted the bed off the frame. ( 6 bolts, unplugged 2 wires and lifted with engine hoist just up and back enough to have easy access to the tank.)> Then I saw a hose that had come loose from the Evap canister to the tank. Reinstalled hose and the check engine light has yet to come back on AND the code I was getting, saying the same problem you have, is gone.

No guarantee that would be you're problem, but another place to check...
