Default cant figure it out

I am new to the forum. I recently bought an 86 f150, 2wheel drive, automatic, 5.0 v8 with the 302. I got it cheap and drove/limped it home. It has some fuel delivery issues it seems like. Driving on flat roads I can not get it over 35mph. while sitting in park it will rev like normal. when i started to drive up hill it would bog down like a stick shift in too high of a gear. and when your foot is on the gas pedal it seems to surge. when driving down the road and while in park, if you rev the engine and pull your foot off the gas it dies. I cleaned the TB and replaced the TPS. It has new plugs, wires, distibutor, thermostat, radiator, hoses, belts, and battery. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

it is a dual tank. i am using the front tank currently. the filler hose for the rear tank was rotted and i just replaced it. i pulled the front tank and cleaned it. there was a bit of gunk. replaced the float in the tank so i can tell how much gas i have. cleaned the in-tank filter. checked the in-line filter and it was not abnormally dirty. is the fuel pump you mention in the tank? im guessing it would be.

Disconnect the exhaust pipes from both manifolds and see if it springs to life. It'll be loud but will let you know if the cat is clogged. (if it still has one)

It has a cat and I was looking at that earlier. may do that tomorrow if I got time, if not I will be doing that Thursday. And heads up I need to know before I dive into disconnecting the exhaust?

Plenty of penetrating oil on the bolts and let soak for a little while might save a stripped bolt.

There is also a high pressure pump on the frame near the fuel filter bowl also. You have a total of 3 fuel pumps on that truck.
