Start looking for where there's fresh fluid - start at the master cylinder and trace each line to the respective wheel. Best guess right now, you have a bad brake cylinder or caliper and it's leaking. With losing that much fluid on a regular basis, it should be fairly easy to find the thing.

well i had a buddy of mine look underneath while i pumped the brakes and he said brake fluid was squirting out of the break line that goes to the rear driverside tire. so i went to oreillys to find the price on break line and he said he needed to kno wat size brake line i needed.

what size brake line would a 1991 f150 use and do i need special tools to bend the brake line?

You can get a brake line kit for about $60 and install it yourself. Or pay labor at the dealer and see what they can do. Either way, the F150 brake line parts are compatible from the 80's to about ten years ago. There were no real brake throughs (get it?) in brake line tech and lots of Fords are standard for parts to cut down on costs to the consumer. Just be safe on the road!

I would suggest you go to the "vendor's showcase thread" TASCA is a Ford dealership that sells OEM part for cost plus 10%. I ordered a clock spring from them and it was cheaper then the local Ford dealer and they have a fast turn around. They properly use the vehicle identification number to get you the correct part. Get your VIN number and ask Josh for a quote.

Very cool! No problem. good brakes are the most important and they aren't the most expensive part of the car to fix. Good luck, and please let us know how it turns out! Oh and if you can snag some DIY tips from your girlfriends dads friends, feel free to share -I'd personally like to learn some more tricks of the trade! Be well!

Awesome, that's always great when you can fix what you need at a steal. Once me an a buddy of mine scratched up a test car off roading and were freaking out because the manufacturer was picking it up the next day. So we filled up the tank and were deciding what to do when this guy who was admiring it turned out to be a body guy. He literally fixed everything on the spot for $40 bucks.
