Default Awful Engine noise! :help:

I just finished changing my timing chains, tensioners, guides, and cam phasers on my 2004 f150 5.4L. I started it up and it sounds terrible! I'm not sure what the sound is, please help!!

You're right, that sounds bad. I think you'll have to take it all apart and look. Make sure the reluctor ring on the crankshaft is facing to right way.
I realize the post is a few days old, so hopefully you have it figured out by now.

Did you ever figure out where the noise was coming from. Many others would appreciate knowing if it was some accidental or avoidable misstep in changing timing chains, tensioners, guides, and cam phasers. I know I would because I suspect I'll soon be facing that challenge on my ole 200,000 mile '04 5.4L at some point - possibly fairly soon.

Hope it was a simple loose bolt or something! lol
