the explorer is actually due now and the f150 has a little while but i like to have a good plan of attack before i get started. still undecided but im leaning toward the castrol MV in the f150. it doesnt have any problems so why change it up
I plan on doing mine soon as well (2004 Lariat 5.4). I was thinking of full synthetic (Castrol) but figured since I do mine every 60k and don't tow much at all the M V will do just fine and save a few dollars.

I have an 02 Explorer SOHC with the dreaded tranny as well -- so far 159k miles and not an issue. That one will be done soon too.

What method are you going to use to flush? I'm asking because I'm looking for information on using the in-flow and out-flow of the transmission cooler lines to get it all out and all new in.
