Well Im not sure if the compressor turns on or not. Should I hear something? It blows air that is slighlty cool but but just on the verge of being warm.

Start by turning on the motor and set the A/C to Max A/C and full cold. Open the hood and locate the compressor. If the center part of the pulley is spinning the compressor is running. At this point it's most likely you have a small leak and need to add freon to the low side of the system. Usually identified by a BLUE cap. The high side is red. Never add to this side. There are kits that allow you to add sealer and freon BUT if you've never done this I would take it to a shop or at least go on You-Tube and find a video that shows you how. Good luck

About sealer, my experience.

Used it in my 08, did not help. I assume I had an evaporator pinhole leak. it impacted the cooling. I removed all 134a and opened system. The fixed orifice valve was coated and blocked by the sealant.

Put a new one in, vac down and recharged by weight. Worked as best it was going to for an 08 with 125K on it.

I would just go to wall mart and get a bottle with gauge and charge it up, forget the sealer.

Just me though. You have either a hose leak, look for oil and dirt around fittings, a compressor seal failure or an evaporator leak under the dash, big repair!

Hello, I have a 2000 F 150 5.4 I need to recharge my air. I bought a hose kit and used it to recharge the air on my Maxima, but it does not seem to fit the Ford. It will "almost" go on. I am using the port close to the firewall. Is there a special hose that I need to buy? Thanks

Does your truck and Maxima both use 134a? I don't know when ford switched. My 98 took R12.

If your truck is r12 finding the r12, legally, is going to be your bigger issue.
