Default abs flash code 18

My 2004 F150 is showing flash code 18 which points to passenger air bag deactivation circuit. The pad light is showing 12v on the hot side but the black/yellow ground side is open. The blk/yel wire disappears into a mass of other wires, so I can't trace it. I bypassed the ground wire to a good ground but then the pad light stays on permanently while running. Anyone ever successfully fixed this grounding problem?

Not sure if your year model had it but they used to have a passenger airbag switch to turn it off, works with the ignition key, at one time it was dash mounted, then I seem to recall they moved it to behind the glove box.

Do you see any where you might insert the ignition key in either place?

Default Fixed airbag code 18

I traced the bk/yel wire from the pad light to the drivers side wire channel under the kick plate, which took forever. There was a break in the wire from what looked like overloading. Spliced in new wire and all is well.:-)
