Default abs code c1194

Hi all. New to this site and just bought a 2003 f-150 with a few problems. I am getting a c1194 ABS code which says it is the left front outlet valve coil circuit failure. I have looked on this site but cannot find anything on it, can someone let me know where and what to check to fix this problem.

thanks

Thanks. The truck is now in to get engine rebuilt and I did not get a chance to accomplish any further trouble shooting on it. From your post with it only showing the C1194 code It sounds like the control module is the problem so I will check this when I get the truck back.

Yeah that code seems like it's a done deal for the abs module. Let me know if you have any other questions when you get it back, I have detailed Ford shop information like the dealer uses, side effect of working for them as a line tech for 11 years.

Another question is, when I replace the module is there anything else I need to do to get it to work like have the dealer do something? I am looking at some on ebay , 149 vs 835 for a new one from Ford, they have the part number ford says it is supposed to have ( I cannot check it now as the truck is in the shop) but they say they are from 05-06 truck are they all the same?

You will have to have the system service bleed function performed by the dealer or someone with either a New Gen or IDS. The control module is part of the hydraulic control unit which is why it's so expensive (4wd)

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I will look for someone who will install and bleed the system. I thank you so much for your help.
