I took a working one out of another truck and just wanted to service it before I install it. Just real dirty and has been sitting for about a year. Is there a site where I can get detailed info on the workings of and dos & dont's.

 

Other than the hub, bearing, seal and clutch, not much to do. It's junk if there is any wear to the other parts.

 

Just curious, but what is the cost of a rebuilt kit compared to a reman unit, and be advised some auto parts stores sell units that are not completely rebuilt, just cleaned up and any parts that appear worn are replaced. Plus there are alot of do's and don'ts.
