Default 8.8 differential gear pattern.

Hello, sorry my first post is a request for help.
Is there anybody out there who can take a look at this gear pattern and give me some advice?
It's an 8.8 diff and 4.10 ford performance gears,it currently has the stock shim in (.026) and .0085 backlash.
I have gone up and down with both the pinion and backlash, but the coast side seems to favor the toe end of the gear no matter what.

Thanks John.

That actually looks not bad. The crucial face is the drive side - top picture. The coast side (bottom picture) isn’t that bad either. This website has some good info. https://www.racingjunk.com/news/2015...ear-correctly/

Thanks for the link.I see it says centered on the drive and slightly towards the toe on the coast side is ok.
I played with the backlash a bit more and it didn't have much of an effect on the coast side,it did bring the drive side closer to the heel though.
I'm going to run it and hope for the best.

They are in and running quiet.Speedo is off by about 23% and Ford wants $112.50 to reprogram it,I think I'll live with it.

If you had SOME indication of the truck you're talking about, someone might be able to suggest other options. Put it in your signature...

I'm pretty sure it uses a plastic gear on the VSS (OSS) on the transmission. Read this:

Yes, the ones that are called the OSS, according to this page, which is at this link:
http://www.bbbind.com/tsb-wiring-diagrams-database/
It shows the rear diff sensor is only used for ABS.
