2018 5.0 V8 Oil Consumption - Have you checked lately?

Hello,
I've got about 4500 miles on my new truck thus far and this past weekend decided to take a look at the oil level. To my dismay, the dipstick was dry
It appears that I was down 2qts or so. No warning indicator lights anywhere. One would think being down more than a quart would trigger a warning.
Anyone else have a motor consuming oil at fairly quick rate? Maybe it wasn't filled up properly at the factory in the first place? Dunno.
My 2013 Mustang 5.0 would drink about a half quart every few weeks or so but I beat on it a good bit. This 2018 has been treated kindly, so far, but seems to be set on drinking even more oil. Hopefully its just the new motor working itself in and usage will normalize at some point.

Having same issues 2 quarts in past 7000 miles and needing another quart, but my local Ford tech has the truck under the oil consumption protocol and was told not to add more until I take it back at 9000 miles for them to check it again.

I have a 2078 f 150 5.0 bought it 14000 . I do not know what oil was in it , I changed to Mobil 1 seemed like it used some I changed it again at about 4000 or so with Ford Motor Craft 5/20 . I think 8.8 is the fill up I will check it on Sat to see if it went down any .

We have two 2018 5.0’s in the family. Both have used some oil early on in life. You want to get some heat cycles in them early on to seat the rings. Drive it like you are drag racing (without launching it). Let it rip through the gears, cool down, repeat. Do that a few times and it will treat you better. Watch the oil often and keep it topped up. I have no consumption issues with either of our trucks now after treating them like that. They like to be loaded up and worked!

I bought the truck with 14000 miles its like brand new . The dealer takes alot of them to a shop that does lifts every day to new and used trucks . 4 Wheel Drive PRO in PA that`s one reason I bought this one , they put new step bars ,flairs, Fuel wheels and tires , I do not know how it was run or used , I just changed to the semi syn Motor craft , Wix filter . I will run it a little bit harder and watch the oil . I just tried the sport mode . and I do not drive it every day .

The manual says to not tow or push the engine hard for the first 1000 miles. I followed this recommendation.
After 1000 miles I got on it at times to "help seat the rings"...not sure if this is really necessary?
Currently at 2300 miles, no oil consumption. Running perfect.

I'm running Shell's new Rotella for "Gas Trucks" 5w-20 as I wanted a full synthetic vs Motorcraft's Blend.
