Identical problem with my 2012 XLT at 65k. Figures the problem would occur at below zero temps with a foot of new snow on the ground. So off to the dealer, didn’t have to worry about overheating. T connector was backordered. A week, and $400 later all’s we’ll... for now.

You paid the dealer $400 to replace the t-connector? You really just needed 2 o-rings for a few bucks...

Question F-150 Coolant, 2011 F-150 6.1

I was told by a mechanic that there was a leak from the radiator hoses, he wants to replace the Radiator, Hoses, and Thermostat (thermostat was replaced last year so told him no on that) but quoted almost 2 grand for that. Also said the headers were leaking ($5500). I am not a car guy but something feels off as i dont understand replacing a radiator because of a hose leak. The work is being done but it seems like may have been oversold. is this common or are my suspicions correct?

If it's just a hose leaking then you replace just the hose.... radiator should only be changed if it has a hole an leaking badly... You would see where the leak is coming from. If the head gasket went then you'll need the heads done an it wouldn't hurt to replace the thermostat at that point. The way you described things you are getting raped by this place IMO.

Need to know a lot more before paying for any of that. I would recommend a second opinion and also have them show you where the leak is, post a photo?
