Default 2011 Conversion to Electric Windows and Doo Locks

I bought a 2011 F-150 XL that has manual windows and door locks. I am in the progress of converting them to electric. I have purchased the door panels and inside the door hardware, but have not yet started the removal and installation. I want a remote keypad to lock/unlock the doors, but am not sure how that actually functions. What hardware/software does the keypad communicate with when you press the LOCK or UNLOCK button? Is it in the door or in the cab? Does some module need to be ungraded?

Body control module. That item you already have, you can probably activate it with Forscan. Wiring may be an issue.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me a little bit about Forscan?

See the Forscan sticky thread for your year model as well as www.forscan.org

I am making progress on the conversion to eletric windows and locks of my 2011XL. I am waiting for a BL3Z-14A005-ABA, which is the wiring harness that connects the Body Power Module to both doors. I did go to FORSCAN.ORG and downloaded and installed their free version. I also ordered the scanner attachment they recommended ($50). I have 2 simple questions.
1. Since I rarely use this forum, I am not sure what a "sticky thread" is. Can you explain?
2. There is another thread I made that I want to delete. The FAQs say go to EDIT mode on it, but I don't see an option to delete it. Can you help me?
