Default 08 Spark Plug Change?

I have a 2008 F-150, 5.4 liter
How difficult is it to get to the Spark Plugs in the back. Any special instructions before I attempt this? Thanks

First you need to determine if your motor has the new design heads ... brown coil boots vice black. Brown boots will be the newer heads and plugs will come right out. You will need SP509 motorcraft plugs and a set of brown coil boots and springs. If you have black COP boots things could get complicated.. unless plugs were previously changed. The OEM plugs like to break on the way out and will require a broken plug removal tool. The passenger side back plug #4 will be the PITA to get to. Remove the ECU from the firewall and the bracket that holds it... this will allow more room to work. Another way to tell if you have the newer heads is “motor” build date (not truck build date) if the motor was built after 10/09/07 it has newer heads. To find this date look on the valve cover for a sticker, which may or may still be there.

I have the Black boots on the Spark Plugs. I attempted to take one out and could not budge it. Will be taking it to the dealership for service. Thank you for the info.
