06 F150 5.4 Grinding sound when RPMs drop
Hi all,
06 5.4 F150 here, and I've recently noticed that there's a short grinding sound when the RPMs drop - like when they drop shortly after a cold start on idle, or when you take your foot off the gas.
Nothing on revving up/accelerating, just on the RPM drop. It's definitely in the engine because it does it while parked!
Any tips on where to start investigating would be appreciated!
edit: not sure if grinding is the right word.. it's like something gets stuck for a second right when everything starts to slow down.
