Default 04+ replacement ignition coils?

Hey guys,

I just replaced all my plugs in my pickup and still seems to have a slight mis at idle. I just plan to replace all the coils on the pickup since they may be due with 102k on it. What have you guys found for a good OEM replacement? Does MSD make a good coil for these pickups? Any thoughts would be great! thanks

I got a
2004 F150 5.4L

Looks like OEM is Motorcraft DG511. Ford wanted 76bucks a PIECE for them. i will not pay that much for COP's im sorry.

motorcraft only! go to a dealer or advance auto and they will have them. they are about 50 apiece. what i suggest doing it buying only a couple at a time and move them until u can eliminate it. start with number 8 which is drivers side toward the firewall.

Absolutely no reason to stick with Motorcraft and these come with a lifetime warranty...

read the feedback on those tho. I read about 10 pages and found 2 negatives trying to get warranty claim and the seller was not willing to help or didnt know what they were even talking about.

I just purchased a set of plugs and coils for an 05 F150 4.6 for cheap at Auto Zone. Duralast coils/springs/boots and Motorcraft plugs. Coils say they meed or exceed mnfr specs so is there anything wrong with using these? I haven't installed them yet so if someone knows something negative about these I would appreciate knowing before I do the install. I think I paid like $65.00 for plugs and coils. Plugs are platinum.I have never changed plugs in this pu before and it has 130k and still running pretty smooth. I know they have to be due for a change though.Anything I need to watch out for? Is this the model that has a prob. with the plugs breaking off? I have changed plugs many times in other vehicles but never one with coils on plugs.

you do have the plug issue... and at $65 for plugs and coils im guessing they sold you the wrong parts to boot.... can you post a pic of the plug and coils? or post up some part numbers

Oh,I just looked in the box and they are just boots and springs.Damn! I thought I had a deal. The plugs they sold me are Motorcraft SP-493. I don't think the coils are bad as it is running pretty smooth for 130k miles but I figured they would be wore and need replacing. Maybe I just need a fresh set of plugs? How long are these coils made to last anyways?
