Default Box Link Alternative

Can anyone shed any info on aftermarket connectors that would slip into the box link plates? I can see where these plates could come in handy for numerous self-made items that one might want to afix to the box link plates.

I'm new here as I have two wk old reg cab. Did a lot of checking on this myself. It is my understanding that basically all e track accessories work. Im in Bama so I just checked my local Tractor supply and they carry e track which looks like it would indeed fit. Lowes list e track also. If you search box link interface compatible with e track I think it will give you info.

my understanding is the e-track accessories fit but are a little loose. I just ordered the lumber racks for mine.

If you want to use e-track and are a little bit handy, you can buy sections of it and mount actual e-track rails to the box link system. Here's mine I did. Two five-foot e-track rails and some Unistrut for good measure. This entire system uses only the box link mounting holes. It's worth noting here that I used rectangular tubing to mount the five-foot e-track rails. Without the reinforcement, the long rails would be nearly useless at their unsupported centers. Granted, this design is fairly complex in order to facilitate the Unistrut. It could be a lot simpler if you only wanted e-track rails. I'm using bull ring anchors.

How did you end up attaching the etrack? I’m really liking your design, but probably wouldn’t bother with the unistrut. I also have a toolbox right behind the cab. I’d love to have etrack to have some more anchor points.

It probably looks a little more complicated than it is, due to design modifications along the way in order to suck everything as close to the bed as possible. The e-track is screwed to a 3 1/2" piece of five-foot rectangular tubing that was capped at both ends to keep the water out. Tabs made from angle iron were welded to the tube to mount it to the bracket which bolts to the box link mounts. The brackets were made from a large piece of square tube that was cut to resemble a shallow c-channel, and welded a flat plate to it to form the mounting plane for the e-track tube angle brackets.

You can find more details here and some pictures of it going together. My rule of thumb, you can NEVER have too many anchor points!

I used E Track 2x4 mounts to complete a multipurpose rack that holds bikes, fishing rods, & frosty beverage holder’s/ openers.

works great.

How stable are the E-Track lumber holders in the BoxLink cleats? Do they fit tight or is there some wiggle? I'm looking to do the same thing to make a bike rack using a 2x4, but I'm concerned it will be pretty loose and not provide a stable mount for the bikes.
