Default Zoom Feature on Back Up Camera

I spent some time searching and could only find threads that were a bit old, with no real fix. 90% of the responses ranged from "didnt know it had that feature" to "grow up, put your big boy pants on, and dont worry about it."

Anyways, two days ago I hooked up to my trailer for the first time since probably December. Between December and now I've used Forscan for multiple things, and all has worked out ok, so I thought. While backing up, I noticed that the camera zoom does not work. Upon pressing the magnifying glass the camera beeps, but does not zoom.

I dont know if I inadvertently changed a value in Forscan, or if something is "broke" and requires a trip to the dealer. If thats the case, then I'll probably just live with it, as I really dont want to re-do all the programming.

Just wondering if anyone else had this issue, and if it was caused by Forscan.

Thanks.

Can you export the data from forscan (like is suggested) -have Ford reflash, then come home and upload the saved data?

Or do your own troubleshooting -disable one item at a time of the features you've changed.

You may need to edit your original post (before people for responding/asking) to included your model year and trim package for others to assist with the 'correct vehicle' as trim packages change and model years may have different line items.

Possibly. I’d just have to go line by line on my changes. Didn’t know if there was a certain spot in Forscan to go.

Any updates to this issue? Recently upgraded my Sync to 3.4 and lost my ability to zoom with the backup camera. Don't know if one caused the other, but timing wise, its the only thing I've changed recently. Thanks.

Not from me. I ended up trading it in for a 2020 XLT. Havent had an issue with the new truck yet. Never did figure out why I lost the zoom with the '19. I just figured I changed something incorrectly via Forscan.

Default Happened to my truck

This happened to my truck they had to replace the rear camera and the computer module that controls that and the key pace code locking system sorry I don’t have more info about it. It was about a year ago. I will try to see if I still have the paperwork for it when I get home. But after they replaced those it worked

On my base XL, you have to push the "OK" button below the screen to work the zoom.

It really pisses me off that they put the zoom icon right were I want to focus on. The hour glass is always right on top of my ball, so it is blocked!

On my 2020 Lariat, I have a '+' in my upper left corner, press it and it zooms. (just did it today )
