I ended up with the xlt becuase it was a $5.5k difference with incentives factored in. I'm not a huge fan of the perforated leather look (though ac seats are nice). I gave up on the keyless push start, cooled seats, a fancier cluster, and leather for $5.5k. I also liked the xlt grill alot better and the 302a comes with step bars included. If leather is a must, Katzkin leather can be had with whatever style you like. You can get a 100% leather (no vinyl kit for about $1150) if you diy. The factory lariat leather still had a good bit of vinyl on the seats. In the end, I'm very happy with my decision.
Maybe leaning more towards the XLT...

Holy crap, I just noticed the 501A doesn't have the LED headlights! Why can't the 502A come with sport . Not the only reason I was leaning towards the Lariat, but one! I also like the big instrument cluster screen, and the memory seats (my partner and me are much different height!). Leather is definitely not a must have, and with all the trouble I've read about the cooled seats, wouldn't need them either, ha!

I myself was thinking about xlt vs lariat - supercab vs supercrew - 2.7 vs 3.5 etc. etc.
I was trying to justify not needing any of the fancy stuff as well as only needing a supercab instead of the crew to keep the cost down as low as I could.
In the end I bought a Lariat, 3.5 eco supercrew w/ 502a package.
Much more money, but I knew if I downgraded from the FX4 2013 I currently had I would regret it big time.
If you're going to be paying for this thing over the next 5,6, 7 years etc. - you better go with what you REALLY want or it isn't even worth it to begin with, if you don't get what you really want then you might as well just keep whatever you got now to save the money.
That's my thought anyway, for me I made sure I got my sweet LED lights, auto 4WD, heated seats, Sony sound system, big back seat, list goes on and on
I have somewhat buyer's remorse like I do with everything I buy seeing as how this is easily hands down the most expensive payment I've ever had - but you only live once and I just know I am going to really enjoy it and be happy for years to come. I hope anyway!!

It all depends on how much you want to spend or have to spend. I purchased a xlt with 2.7 and had the truck 3 weeks and then come across some unexpected money and traded for a lariat 3.5 with the 502a package and I am so happy I got the fancier truck. There is so many little things the higher priced trucks come with that just make them so much nicer. Who knows, a lot of those things might not make a hill of beans to some but they make it worth every penny to me.
