X Plan
See, what you have here is known as a "clue", In short, a clue that you want to take your business elsewhere.
I had an F&I worm pull similar **** with me after I told him I didn't care about his digital pad, I wanted to see, on paper, the Texas buyer's order. He started with the crawfishing. I gave him 30 seconds to figure it out, or I was walking out and the $63K sticker truck could just sit on his lot. That got things moving.
I would pay extra money to be able to buy a car without ever talking to an F&I worm.

Any time you encounter a dealer that plays games like these:
1. Bait and switch advertising (“ohhh we had the wrong price listed for that vehicle”)
2. Refusal to show you the invoice with all plan pricing listed (“we don’t have it”, “customers aren’t allowed to see that”, etc)
3. Endless trips to “talk to the manager”
Walk away. They’re going to jerk you around and try to wear you down until you accept a **** deal. Having bought more than my fair share of vehicles in the last few years, I can tell you from experience that you’re better off walking away at the first whiff of bull**** than you are trying to haggle with those types of dealerships. I’ve found that my ideal demographic for car salesmen is the guy in his late 50’s that doesn’t give a **** what his manager says, doesn’t play games, and says yes to any reasonable request. That guy wants to make a deal and isn’t greedy enough to let the sale walk out the door over petty cash.

Because only by losing customers that walk away will they ever stop being crooks.
My salesguy usually takes care of most of it. He doesn't want to lose his commission over their idiocy!
