Default X-mas in August!

The FedEx truck just dropped off a giant box of parts courtesy of AutoNation White Bear Lake to get my next round of mods completed! I'm still waiting on a delivery from UPS today with my new Platinum grille and some colored film that will be here tomorrow from Amazon, but here's what's happening:

- Power folding mirrors (not pictured)
- 360 camera system added
- Spotlights added
- Puddle lights added
- Painted mirror caps
- Fully painted tailgate handle
- Painted Platinum grille
- Blue numbers on 8" cluster
- Hill Descent Control added

I think I've got my work cut out for me, as these Lariat door harnesses look like they'll be quite the chore to swap!

yikes! Take your time! I may opt for just not having the options over tearing my truck that far apart. I would like a few nice features like puddle lights, and a backup cam, but I may just make them happen other ways- Like lights under the truck, and a Bluetooth backup cam to use my Iphone as a monitor.

It wasn't too bad. I had bought a set of these for pulling other panels but they bend too much.
Amazon Amazon

But they were great for removing the harness, the V slot released the plastic clips and they popped right out. I tried adding the new one as I removed the old one but it was easier to take pictures then remove the old one and install the new one. Pull the speaker and remove and insert through the hole.

Do you have the power tow mirrors now, just replacing them with power folding?
I might be interested in getting them off you....put on my XL STX with power mirrors (but want the tow mirrors!)

This won't be the first nearly brand new car I've taken apart, so I'm not worried. I did professional installation work for years and have all the good panel tools, so that's no problem either. If there's an OEM solution for a feature I want I'd much rather spend a little extra time/money and do it that way, as they typically are more reliable and integrated better.

I had thought about trying to do the removal/reinstall at the same time like you mentioned, but had a feeling some good pics might just be the way to go because with this much wiring it's bound to get in the way. Thanks for the tips, time to get working!

No, I have standard BLIS mirrors currently, not the towing ones. The new ones aren't the towing mirrors either, as I'm not a fan of the look and don't tow anything large enough on a regular basis to need them.

I assume you purchased the new Lariat door harnesses because your adding 360* camera - not just for the power fold function?

Correct, and I'll probably add some ambient lighting eventually as well so that wiring will already be in place inside the doors.

understood...

just wanted to make sure you weren't changing the door harnesses just for power fold since you already have the 22 pin mirror connectors.

Can you take a dump in the box and send it back to AN WBL for me? Absolutely hate them ever since they went corporate.

Sweet project for ya though!
