I have never heard of anyone doing it where I live and we get a lot of ice storms and some snow/sleet. They scatter a lot of salt/sand/chemical mixture here when needed. Nobody has trouble with vehicles rusting here.

Look under other's trucks been driven there for a few years. There will be surface rust on places like axle housings that comes off with a brush, not rust eating into the metal like ya see in the rust belt.

We had 6 or more applications of brine to the roads last winter. Dallas area.

We had brine once in West Texas this year. Fortunately it was before I bought my truck. Used to live in Denver and they would put a ton of mag chloride down which was also bad for cars and trucks.

If only I could Fluid Film my front lawn from all the damn salt, I'd be happy!

Yeah, I drove the truck at least once on the brined highways near Dallas/Ft. Worth last winter, although they were dry at the time. I have sprayed off the bottom/frame of the truck with a pressure washer numerous times since then, because my street was under construction and full of mud/sand. My frame still has some small layer of that sand, because it doesn't have the shiny black look it had 9 months ago. HOW DO I GET THAT BACK?
