Quite salty around there but how often they spray brine on the roads ? Once a year in January ? I can't imagine ever as I have been through there quite a bit all times of the year and it is usually quite tropical. I have never heard of anyone doing it where I live and we get a lot of ice storms and some snow/sleet. They scatter a lot of salt/sand/chemical mixture here when needed. Nobody has trouble with vehicles rusting here.

But you need it in Boston. Nobody in Texas does it because they don't need it. Zero, where are you from originally and how long have you been in Texas ? Look under other's trucks been driven there for a few years. There will be surface rust on places like axle housings that comes off with a brush, not rust eating into the metal like ya see in the rust belt.

We had brine once in West Texas this year. Fortunately it was before I bought my truck. Used to live in Denver and they would put a ton of mag chloride down which was also bad for cars and trucks.

Yeah, I drove the truck at least once on the brined highways near Dallas/Ft. Worth last winter, although they were dry at the time. I have sprayed off the bottom/frame of the truck with a pressure washer numerous times since then, because my street was under construction and full of mud/sand. My frame still has some small layer of that sand, because it doesn't have the shiny black look it had 9 months ago. HOW DO I GET THAT BACK?
