Hello fellow Iowan! I bought my 2017 F150 Screw 4x4 from Marthaler Ford in Worthington MN (NW Iowa area). Best prices by far at just over 20% off list price. Just keep in mind that they are a 'best price' dealer so they don't negotiate on price.

If your looking at going to TX, keep in mind the flight/driving costs to get there and back.

as stated, you are going to pay the same regardless of where you purchase (because rebates are based on registration zip code). The only factor is the dealer discount, and its not going to cover the travel costs and amount of effort just to get there. Now, if you cant find what you want locally and they cant get it, it makes sense to go for that reason but not to save money.

Also, online advertised pricing is essentially worthless, whether you are looking locally or not. You arent going to know what the real price is until you contact them.

Somewhat true, but if you look at the sticker and it says 55K and they have it listed for 44K, that's a pretty good darn start that you don't have to haggle about.

Today, local commercials are running for the dealer I mentioned above, 28% off of sticker on F150. BTW I have never dealt with them. (disclaimer)

Good luck to the OP!

Thanks guys, I have bought my last 3 trucks from Woodhouse in Blair NE the dealers in Des Moines can't beat their deals. I just thought it might be worth the drive to save a little more cash. I'm going to check out the place's that were mentioned.

But are they including rebates in that price?

yes, they have to be. There's a whole 400 page thread on pricing, im sure you've seen it floating around on here, its on the first page most every day. There are no magic numbers, theres only so much room to discount these things.

If you see an online price of 44k for a sticker of 55k, it means nothing. Especially if you are looking outside of your zip code, you CANT get those rebates. If you live in 12345, you are getting the 12345 rebates ANYWHERE in the country. So an amazing online price in Houston is worthless if you don't live in Houston (or qualifying areas). And even if you live there, you may or may not qualify for all the rebates, and they are under zero obligation to actually offer you that price. I can't even tell you how many times ive inquired about a truck with 'huge online sales price' only to receive a real price quote that's thousands higher. You really don't know whats going to happen until you actually start a form of communication with them (phone call, email, in person, anything).

There are many ways to look up your rebates, including the ford website. So lets say you have 5k dollars in local/national rebates for your zip code. Thats a static discount. So your 55k truck is 50k with no dealer discount. So the only thing left for you to negotiate is the dealer discount off the original 55k, which can fluctuate between dealers by 2-3k max on higher end model (assuming the dealer is starting with a realistic discount).

I live in Pa but have gotten my last 5 F150's in NJ. As stated above rebates are based on your home address, not dealers. Buying out of state also requires a temporary out of state registration and plate until your home state sends you the proper owners card and title. After receiving those, you can get your vehicle inspection/emissions done. Negotiate this cost in your deal so you get reimbursed. In Pa that amounts to about $75.

I would suggest going and looking to find that answer, since I am not in the market for another Ford F150.

That's why I said its a good start, if it does not, you know there is more to go, if it does, then you have to know your numbers going in in order to try and get their number better.

On what planet are you getting an 11k dollar discount on a truck that doesnt include rebates? So its going to be 11k dollar discount + 6k dollars in rebates for a total of 17k dollars off????

If they have F150s for 17k dollars off, I'd like to go ahead and purchase 3 today.

If you are talking to me, my example above was a hypothetical. But again, if you go to their website and I am sure others, you will see some very good no haggle pricing like this one listed for 64K and it gets down to 51 or possibly 50K.

Im not looking to argue this or even debate it, the numbers are there. Hope the OP finds what he needs.
