Default Wonkey steering

Whats with the wonky steering? I thought I read something about some fruity steering but can't find it. One second its all good and the next it wants to pull to the left to the point you're almost fighting it back. I had a 2018 Blue Jean Platinum and it was okay - the dealer bought that truck back as it had many issues and now in a 2018 KR. Not sure if it's an alignment thing but I'm going to have it checked tomorrow but wanted to see if others have this crap. TIA!

I think it has to do with lane keep assist.

I've seen others mention the same issue.

LKA annoyingly tugs at wheel, just keep it off, button on end of turn signal. It's in the manual.

So you are crossing lane markers and don't like that the truck keeps you from doing that? Or are you one of those really considerate types that change lanes without signalling.

If the former, I wouldn't turn it off. If the latter, then I would definitely not turn it off and start signalling to change lanes.

It is an issue with the pull drift compensation. Let me guess, rough roads are even worse.

I don't think it's the lane keeping assist, unless you are driving over the center line all the time. My LKA keeps my truck in the lane, it doesn't tug or pull if I'm not near the line.

That said, it's a simple to check if the LKA is the issue, just turn it off.

I think acdii is probably right, sounds like some people are having issues with the pull drift compensation.

No, I'm in the center of the road - let go of the wheel and it goes to the right or left....I've had the alignment check and they claim all is well. I read something where Ford put a notice out (from Nov 2018 i think) and I can't find it now. Just seems much different than my 2011 F150.

I found this but it addresses 2015/2016

To address the concern, reprogram the Power steering Control Module (PSCM) to the latest level using IDS version 101.04 or higher and attempt to re-verify the customer concern.

If the customer concern is still present, then continue with normal WSM diagnostics.

The updated calibration has improvements to the Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) compensation.

Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates.

Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com.

That wont apply to the 2018 because any programming for those MY would already be applied at the factory or superseded with a later version. It is the PDC that is causing that issue, and can be disabled using Forescan, which others have verified makes it better.

BTW, Here is the thread I think you want to read.
