^^^^ I did almost the same on my 2015.Mounted 2 6 led pods [ 36watts total] and wired them both to the back up lights behind the tail light. Just used "T" taps and sealed with liquid tape. no fuse, no relay. the circuit is protected by a fuse all ready and the 36 watts pulled by the leds will not overload the circuit. Keep it simple.

I just found that same diagram in this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/led-b...iagram-361610/

In theory, if I just tap that wire with the white from my relay and leave the power supply coming from the battery, it sound work, correct?

I tapped the back of the 7 pole and had no problem. I haven't heard any problems with the reverse light leads but I have heard problems when tapping into the brake and running lights because the truck thinks there is a trailer connected.

I tapped the 7 pole on my 2013 Raptor for the in-bumper Rigid LEDs and it was fine. But on my new one it doesn't seem to want to work.

Did you test the trailer plug to see if there's power there in reverse?

did this on my 16...does not sense a trailer as I only tapped the reverse wire.
Ran that as power to my dash, switch either reverse, off or 12vt on...they work great

Ok, got it working finally. Ground to rear frame at existing ground site, power to the relay from the battery, and tapped the white trigger wire from the relay into the green w/ brown stripe reverse light from the taillight harness. The wire is in position 4. Lights kick on in reverse automatically. I may go back later and add a switch that can be toggled when I'm working behind the truck or hooking up a trailer, but for now this will work! I appreciate the help guys.

Seems most are having problems with 2015+ when trying to tap into the trailer wiring.
No, I have done it on both trucks with no problems. I've had the 2016 since September and they are still working perfectly.
