Default Wiring Help Needed

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a wire or wires, that are power on when you take the transmission out of park, then power off when you put it back in park. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks all.

If you use DRL's, they come on out of park and off in park. Get you power from the fuse box and use the light wire to trigger a relay.

Thank you so much, I never even thought of that. I'm installing the front parking sensors and I want to have two forms of disconnect. One being the power on, when in gear and the other from the brake switch. I know they are two different circuits, so I am going to put two relays in series with each other, along with a switch to turn them off manually if needed. Again thank you!

Sounds like a great idea. The front sensors are nice to have. I used to have them and found them to be very useful and accurate. However, they were damaged in an accident and I did not reinstall them after the truck was repaired. I wired in an OEM auto s/s switch with a series of relays as my disconnect. I replaced the full size hazard button in the dash with a split hazard/auto ss button and used a pulse momentary from the ignition. See the attached link.

That switch panel looks great. Do you have a how-to on those switches? I already ran a length of multi-wire cable and left it sitting behind the CD panel for future use with switches. That's exactly what I want to do on mine for future lights and stuff. Thanks.

So I tried using the DRL's but when the headlights come on, the DRL's go off. They stay on, so they must be fed from another power source. Or there is another set of LED in the same housing. What I'll be doing is using a switch that I will install on the brake pedal arm and a manual switch to shut them off if needed.

Do you have puddle lamps? If so, I believe that power to them shuts off at 5 mph.
