Default Wiring bed lights

I'm trying to wire what would be reverse lights and step lights on my bumper to turn on when I turn my bed lights on. I was thinking about soldering into the two lights near the tailgate. Adding a total of four LEDs. Anyone got any tips?

Default Here's my setup.

The small led will go into the bumper step and the bigger "reverse" light will pop into the slot and light up the ground while I'm working in the back.

This will get you a signal that turns on when the doors open or you hit the unlock/cargo light buttons.

To get reverse lights, you can get away with tapping into the reverse circuit on your trailer connector if you have the 7-pin setup. If not, I'd recommend a relay using power from the trailer hot wire and signal from your reverse bulb.
