Default Wireless Android Auto

Wireless Android Auto.

Your phone options must have an "intelligent switch to mobile data when Wi-Fi internet is slow or unstable" (Samsung-speak) as the dongle connects to the phone by Wi-Fi, not BT.

NO, I haven't ordered it yet, please don't ask me questions. See the links.

I have mine ordered, I'm in the April batch. The reviews of people who have received them sounds good.

If I didn't already have wireless AA thru my Kenwood headunit, I would look into this. Noice.

Keep checking, they're waiting on Wi-Fi chips.

Wonder how quickly the comm protocol will burn through phone battery. Unless paired with a wireless charging pad this doesn't do much for me...

That's exactly what I plan on doing; retrofit the Expedition wireless charging pad into the cubby. Just toss my phone in, start and AA pops up. That's the hope at least (I preordered AAWireless last September).
I've already got wireless AA on my other vehicle so I'm always a little bummed they couldn't get either of these things into our trucks.

I ordered mine and I am in the March batch, however it looks like it might be delayed a couple weeks due to manufacturing issues...but hopefully it'll be here soon. I was worried about battery life as well and obviously I didn't want to have to plug my phone in to charge it...kind of defeats the purpose. So I added a wireless charging pad in my retrofit console. You can see it in the spot where the floor shifter normally goes.

Samsung charging pads are easy to hot-glue most anywhere... just hot-glue a pair of pieces of tubing to the top to keep the phone planted.
